Moose, our adorable 8-week-old Labrador retriever, recently joined our household. As he explores the layout of our house, he’s been impressively good with potty training. Over the past two days, there have only been two pee accidents and one poop—quite an achievement for a young pup!

Our next adventure was giving Moose his first bath. Our previous dogs had contrasting reactions: one loved baths, while the other would do anything to avoid the bathtub. Leigh and I prepared the tub, filling it with about two inches of water. But Moose had other plans—he was more interested in drinking the bathwater than getting clean! Lesson learned for next time: puppy-proof the bath.
To our surprise, we’d accidentally bought puppy conditioner instead of shampoo. Despite this, Moose handled the bath fairly well. He didn’t enjoy it too much, but he wasn’t overly distressed either.
Now that he’s squeaky clean, we’re bracing ourselves for his next move. Will he roll in the grass or find a mud puddle the moment we take him outside? Only time will tell!
Below is the video of his bath.
